3 Great Fair Trade Products We’re Loving Right Now

Fair Trade certified businesses are part of a global community that puts people and the planet first. It is a commitment that highlights the need to change the practices of conventional trade. It is also a tangible contribution to the fight against poverty, climate change and economic crisis.

In turn, buying Fair Trade certified products is not only a great way to support responsible companies, but can also help to reduce poverty, encourage environmentally friendly production methods, and safeguard humane working conditions worldwide.

As a Fair Trade certified company ourselves, we at Betterfelt believe it’s important to champion other Fair Trade products and brands and help grow support for this awesome community.

That’s why in this series, we highlight some of the Fair Trade products we’ve been loving lately.

Mifuko basket bags

Mifuko is a Fair Trade certified Finnish design brand that combines beautiful Nordic design with Kenyan craftsmanship.

Besides being a Fair Trade certified producer, the company also runs the Mifuko Trust, a non-profit organization that aims to empower women in eastern Kenya by way of donations and projects in their communities.

The brand has also done some cool things to promote Fair Trade fashion to a wider audience, including taking part in a Fair Trade luxury collection with designer brand Chloé.

Mifuko is most well-known for their classic and stylish basket bags.

Mifuko basket bags are available in a variety of styles, sizes and colours. They are a perfect summer staple that will carry everything you need!

Elvang’s Star duvet cover

Nothing adds a little hygge to the bedroom more than comfy bedding, and fellow Danish company Elvang does it right!

The brand was built on a love of exquisite textiles and classic design. While this duvet cover set is made from organic cotton linen, Elvang also specializes in alpaca wool and other sustainable materials. Their products combine Nordic aesthetics and Peruvian craftsmanship.

Meanwhile, the small baskets are perfect by the front door to throw your keys into, or on the coffee table so you’re never left looking for the remote!
